The Slow Step OAV was based on the manga Slow Step by Mitsuru Adachi also known for his works Katsu! and Miyuki. Kunihiko Yuyama was the director. Mitsuru Adachi began working on it after finishing Katsu! and Miyuki. Hiroya Watanabe wrote a soundtrack for the anime. The anime is filmed as a comedy with slight romance, slice of life.
